Sports Club Arigato (“thank you” in Japanese) was born as the concept of a health sanctuary inspired by the novelty of Zen Buddhism. This club aims for combined development of a person’s physical abilities with intellectual ones by combining state-of-the-art technology with ancient wisdom. The symbol of the club is a brush-written black circle - ensō, one of the most well-known objects of Japanese calligraphy. Ensō means “circle” in Japanese and it is a symbol of the Universe, enlightenment and strength. It is also “manifestation of the moment”, an important notion in Zen Buddhism.
The visual identity was created in 2006 and renewed in 2014.
