The European Union is increasingly funding more cybersecurity related projects in non-European Union countries each year and have established a network of cybersecurity experts EU CyberNet (www.eucybernet.eu) as a result of that. The objective of this endeavour is to strengthen the European Union’s contribution to global cybersecurity and to provide a more efficient use of exercises, training and investments into non-European countries. Additionally, the network has the task of advising different departments of the European Commission. The network must include over 500 experts and 150 organisations before the project is complete. EU Cybernet’s project entitled “Latin America and Caribbean Cyber Competence Centre“ was established in the Dominican Republic and the project is an important step in reaching that objective.
