The Estonian History Museum was founded on February 19, 1864 as a provincial museum. Today the History Museum brand includes the Great Guild Hall, Maarjamäe Palace, Maarjamäe Stables, Film Museum and the Estonian Theatre and Music Museum. The most visible part of the identity created during rebranding are the Time Brackets - a couple of signs framing the brand name and signifying the conceptual position of the History Museum between the past and future. The motif derived from this creates the basis for design techniques unifying versatile visuals of the museums.
